thanks for this. i just got this issue and now realize i copied a good chunk of music onto the phone a few days ago. i love the phone and UI, but issues like this are almost unforgiveable

I am a member in the development communities of both OSs and that is not correct. You may want to go with an ad-supported model if your app has little to no functionality. For the developer this is a safer way to ensure an income from an application over time, as users will tend to keep using over time. If your app is what the public wants and no one has what you are offering, then you will sell apps provided your app has a reasonable price.

At this point piracy is just a theoretical possibility representing no more risks than any other platforms. So far, all woes about piracy are just scare tactics from competitors.
